Federal Minister for IT and Telecommunication, Syed Amin Ul Haque, has launched Pakistan’s first communication app, “Beep Pakistan.” The launch event took place on Monday, where he also introduced the new web version of E-office.
Developed by the National Information Technology Board (NITB), Beep Pakistan aims to improve communication and operational efficiency within government organizations. The app includes features such as document sharing, secure messaging, and quick audio, video, and conference calls, with all data securely hosted in Pakistan.
Minister Syed Amin Ul Haque stated that after a one-month test run, the app will be available to all government officers and officials. If successful, it will be open to the public after one year. He emphasized that the app is designed to secure and streamline digital communication among government employees, enhancing their productivity through modern e-governance practices.
He praised the efforts of the NITB and reaffirmed the Ministry of IT’s commitment to the Digital Pakistan vision, focusing on reducing the digital divide. The event also featured addresses from CEO of NITB Babar Majeed Bhatti, MD NTC Meraj Gul, and Additional Secretary MoITT Ms. Aisha Humera Moriani. A detailed presentation on Beep Pakistan’s features was also given. The ceremony was attended by Ministry of IT officers, heads of its attached departments, and other officials.
